One of my very favorite maps was this one. It cascaded out of a leather-bound travel guide. When completely unfolded it was over six feet long. Almost nothing was depicted on the map except the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean. The wedding was in South Africa and the reception (held mainly for the Groom's family and friends) was held in Massachusetts.

The guidebook was the "save the date" announcement for the Victorian Safari-themed wedding. In it were travel tips, clothing recomendations, hotel information and the like. The wording on the map was typical for that stuffy age and the typographic style was just as convoluted and over-the-top as the wording. Right up my alley!
